The plaintiff in this action purchased certain real estate, consisting of six lots at Ridgewood Heights, on the 6th day of September, 1892, from the Long Island Real Estate Exchange and Investment Company, the price agreed upon being $4,400. The plaintiff was a steward employed upon the “ American Line ” of steamers plying between the United States and England, and the officers of the investment company were Ignatz Martin, president; Sydney H.
