FOURNET, Justice.
The defendant was tried, convicted, and sentenced on an indictment on three counts for the murder of H-Rell Hamilton, Laura Gill, and Roseann Gill, and from the conviction and sentence to hang, he has appealed.
The defendant, William Gill, who is of the Negro Race, drowned his thirteen year old stepdaughter, H-Rell Hamilton, issue of his wife’s first marriage, in order to keep her from telling that he was responsible for her pregnant condition as a result of his relations with her.
