The proceedings which resulted in the orders requiring the defendant to pay three dollars a week for the support •of her daughter were instituted under the provisions of title 8 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, which are substantially like the provisions of the Revised Statutes as they existed before the adoption of the Code. Herenden v. De Witt, 49 Hun, 55, 1 N. Y. Supp. 467. That title defines the liability in such cases, and prescribes the procedure to enforce it.
