Defendant Jose Dorance Florez (“Flo-rez”) appeals from a judgment of conviction entered on May 12, 2005, after a jury trial in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York (Charles P. Sifton, Judge) at which he was found guilty of two narcotics conspiracies, the first to import more than one kilogram of heroin into the United States in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 963, 960(a)(1), 960(b)(1)(A), and the second to possess with intent to distribute the same quantity of heroin in violation of 21 U.S.C. §§ 846, 841(a)(1), 841(b)(1)(A)®.
