Petitioner, who is presently a state prisoner confined in the Maryland House of Correction, seeks habeas corpus relief in this Court for the first time.
On June 14, 1965, Britton was found guilty of robbery with a deadly weapon after a non-jury trial in the Criminal Court of Baltimore City and was sentenced to a term in prison of twenty years. Thereafter, he appealed to the Court of Appeals of Maryland. That appeal was pending in that Court when the latter filed its opinions in Schowgurow v.
