1Opinion of the Court

Steinke, District Judge.

NATURE OF CASE

The jury found in favor of the plaintiffs on a claim for legal malpractice and fraudulent misrepresentation and awarded $775,000. After trial, the district court overruled the plaintiffs' motion for sanctions and partially granted the defendants' motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict (JNOV), reducing the damages to $235,968.78. The plaintiffs appeal, and the defendants cross-appeal, challenging the district court's subject matter jurisdiction.
