This appeal returns to us from the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, Paul A. Crotty, Judge, following an evidentiary hearing and findings on a Jacobson remand from this Court, see United States v. Jacobson, 15 F.3d 19, 22 (2d Cir.1994), with respect to the district court’s denial of petitioner Patrick Bennett’s motion pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 2255 to vacate his convictions— following two trials — for securities fraud, bank fraud, and money laundering on the ground that he received ineffective assistance of counsel.
