I respectfully dissent. I would hold that the trial court erred in denying defendant’s motion to suppress his inculpatory statements *214because (1) they were the product of an illegal arrest and (2) they were the product of an unreasonable five-day delay between the arrest and the arraignment.
This case involves the fatal shooting of Zawadie Walker and the nonfatal shooting of Tamika Beard during the early morning hours of October 4, 1999, in the city of Detroit.
