(after stating- the facts as above). The collision between the Livingstone and the Grand Traverse occurred about half past 5 on the morning of October 19,1896, when the steamers were on Lake Erie about a mile northwest of Colchester Light, Ontario. The Traverse, a propeller 182 feet long and 33 feet beam, loaded with coal and merchandise, was proceeding up the lake on a voyage from Buffalo to Green Bay, Wis. Her course was W. by 27. f- 27.
