REYNOLDS, Chief Justice.

A jury convicted appellant Otis Carey, who was indicted for the murder of Ora Lee Johnson “by stabbing her with an unknown object,” of voluntary manslaughter. The jury then assessed appellant’s punishment at a $10,000 fine and confinement for twenty (20) years in the Texas Department of Corrections.

Appellant seeks a reversal and acquittal on the ground that the evidence is insufficient to support the conviction because the State did not prove its allegation that the means of death was unknown to the grand jurors. Alternatively, appellant seeks a reversal and remand on…
