On March 15, 1930, James P. Whallen, a resident of Jefferson county, Ky., died testate leaving a widow, Mrs. Susie B. Whallen, hut no children. His only heirs at law were two nieces, Mrs. Nora Moore and Mrs. Ella Herfurth, children of his deceased brother, John H. Whallen. He left an estate of approximately $1,000,-000. In his will dated December 9, 1929, he made eighty-eight specific bequests ranging in amount from $500 to $25,000 to personal friends, relatives, business associates, employees, and charitable institutions.
