This appeal arises out of a civil proceeding in the Circuit Court of Ohio County, West Virginia. The appellee, Karen E. Burger, instituted the action in the circuit court, seeking a divorce from the appellant, Raymond P. Burger. The appellee also sought custody of the minor children of the parties, alimony and child support from the appellant, full possession and title to the jointly owned residence as well as equitable distribution of other marital assets of the parties, and an award of her attorney fees and court costs incurred in the action.
