On April 11, 2002, D.V. (“the father”) filed a petition for the determination of custody of J.T.T.V. (“the child”) in the Marshall Juvenile Court (“the trial court”). In his petition, the father alleged that the child was living with the maternal grandparents and that J.M. (“the mother”) had very limited contact with the child.
