On trial the defendant justified the taking as tax collector for the town of Ludlow under a tax warrant based upon, the grand-list of 1886. The only question raised on the trial was whether-the plaintiff, on the first day of April, 1886, resided in the town of Ludlow for the purposes of taxation.
