Plaintiffs, Robert L. Aaron and Mary Sue Aaron, brought suit against defendant, Herb Hendrickson, d/b/a Hendrickson Lumber Company, to recover damages caused by defendant’s wrongful cutting of plaintiffs’ trees. After a bench trial, the trial court entered judgment for plaintiffs for $17,056.81 plus costs of $2,165.88 against defendant. Defendant appeals the judgment of the circuit court of Johnson County and asks us to consider the following issues: (1) whether section 4 of the Wrongful Tree Cutting Act (the Act) (Ill. Rev.…
