Once again eagerness to implement a desired social policy has produced a result both inconsistent with established jurisprudence and incongruent with the appropriate role of the judiciary. Masquerading as a defender of judicial restraint, the court trespasses upon the function of the redrafting of legislation, a power reserved to another branch of government.
