CARTER, Justice.
Allan Serovy and Pearl Serovy, the son and daughter-in-law of Mary H. Serovy, deceased, appeal from an order of the probate court subjecting a joint-tenancy interest in real estate held by Mary at the time of her death to a claim of the Iowa Department of Human Services for the cost of medical assistance provided to Mary as a Medicaid recipient. Allan and Pearl are the surviving joint owners of the property.
