OPINION

HARBISON, Justice.

This case arises under the transfer provisions of the Tennessee Teachers’ Tenure Act, T.C.A. § 49-1411. Appellant was transferred by the Board of Education, upon recommendation and with concurrence of the Superintendent of Schools, from a position as a full-time principal of a large elementary school to that of principal and teacher at a smaller elementary school in the system. He received the same base salary in the new position, but his total compensation was reduced because there were fewer teachers in the school to which he was transferred. The principal’s salary…
