DECISION
This is an action for post-conviction relief in which petitioner Timothy Jackson contends that the imposition of a life sentence for robbery consecutive to a life sentence for murder, following his guilty pleas to both offenses, violates the double jeopardy clauses of the United States and Rhode Island Constitutions. He argues that he pleaded guilty to felony murder, with robbery as the underlying felony, such that the robbery conviction merged into the murder conviction.
