Catherine Donovan and her brother, Daniel Donovan, since deceased (the former appearing in this action as his executrix), entered into a written agreement in March, 1897, with one William H. Began, an attorney at law, by which the said Began agreed to act as counsel for them in such proceedings as might be necessary to obtain for them their share in the estate of one Mary Johnson.
