WELLFORD, Circuit Judge.
Lee Hitow and David Long appeal their convictions for participation in a large conspiracy to distribute marijuana. See also United States v. Lochmondy and Ludlow, Nos. 88-2049/2134; United States v. Arnold, No. 88-2133. We affirm.

In the spring of 1983, Dennis Erikson invested $150,000 in a load of marijuana that was to be brought to the United States from Colombia. Erikson decided that he wanted to obtain part of the load and began making preparations to receive some of the marijuana.
