Defendant Shi Shen Yu is charged in a New York County indictment with sex trafficking (Penal Law § 230.34) and related offenses. Defendant is currently incarcerated, pending trial, with bail set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond. Release on bail was denied to defendant on an earlier occasion because money to obtain a bail bond was offered by Ms. Wen Choi, but appeared to have been obtained by her from others, and ultimately was of uncertain origin.
