BLAIR, Justice.
This appeal involves the construction of Art. 7084, R.S.192S, as amended in 1931", Vernon’s Ann.Civ.St. Art. 7084, and particularly Subdivision (C) thereof. Subdivision (A) provides that, “except as herein provided, every domestic and foreign corporation * * * chartered or authorized to do business in Texas, shall * * * pay * * * a franchise tax,” and provides the method of determining the-amount of the tax.
