MADDOX, Justice.

These appeals were consolidated because they arise from the alleged wrongful death of a workman covered by Workmen’s Compensation. The first question presented is whether the trial court erred in granting summary judgment in favor of the defendants on the ground that a minor child, who is adopted prior to her natural father’s death and is receiving no support from him at the time of his fatal injury lacked standing to sue as a “dependent” for his wrongful death under the provisions of Code 1975, § 25-5-11.
