TROUTMAN, Senior District Judge.

Plaintiff commenced this action in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County by filing a Writ of Summons as permitted by Pennsylvania Rule of Civil Procedure 1007. Within Defendant Press Parts, Inc., purported to remove the Writ of Summons pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1446. Since we have an obligation to satisfy ourselves of our jurisdiction, we now address, sua sponte, the issue whether a Writ of Summons is an initial pleading subject to removal under 28 U.S.C. § 1446(c) and over which a federal district court has jurisdiction.
