It seems to us that the jurisdiction of the chancery court to enjoin the holding of an election, which is in violation of the constitution and laws of the state, is well sustained on authority. On the other hand, the courts will not interfere in any election where it is not called in violation of the constitution and laws of the state. In all the cases cited by counsel for appellant, where the chancery court has enjoined, without a single exception, it has been in cases where the election was attempted to be held under authority void under the constitution and laws of the state.
