Anne C. Voss and Thomas E. Lowe separately appeal after a jury trial from convictions of attempted arson, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 844(i) (1982), and four associated counts of mail fraud in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1341 (1982). In addition, Voss appeals from a conviction of committing perjury before the grand jury, in violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1623 (1982). Appellants complain principally that the jury instruction on the interstate commerce element of the arson charge was erroneous.
