This matter comes before the Court on a motion to remand by the plaintiffs, Barbara E. LaSusa, Lawrence R. LaSusa, and Michael V. LaSusa, who argue that 28 U.S.C. § 1332 (“Section 1332”) does not confer upon this Court subject matter jurisdiction over their personal injury claims against Lake Michigan Trans-Lake Shortcut, Inc., d/b/a Lake Michigan Carferry (“Carferry”) because the “amount in controversy” is $75,000 or less.
