This is an action in the nature of a bill of interpleader. It was instituted by C. W. Gill, M. M. Meek and Henry James as trustees against two groups of adverse claimants to a fund of $17,974.21 alleged to be in the possession of plaintiffs. The purpose of the suit was to determine the rightful ownership of the fund in controversy. One group of claimants to the fund consisted of Lone Star Townsite Co. and 67 others, hereafter referred to as "landowners."
