The Arkansas-Louisiana Highway Improvement District (hereafter called appellee) instituted three separate suits, two against the White Construction Company and its surety, the United States Fidelity & Guaranty Company, and one against the Bryant Paving Company and its surety, the National Surety Company. The construction companies will hereafter be referred to as the appellants and the surety companies as the guaranty companies.
