In May 2008, the State charged defendant, Michael Maynard, by information with one count of criminal sexual assault and one count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse (720 ILCS 5/12 — 13(a)(1), 12— 16(d) (West 2006)). The State appeals the trial court’s order suppressing defendant’s statements made to Danville police department investigators.
