I. John J. Doherty died in 1882, leaving a will by which he gave all his property, real and personal, to his wife Charlotte, for and during her natural life, and after her death, the whole of the property to his son Charles, who was then of age. The will appointed the wife as executrix. The testator left no debts except expenses of last sickness and funeral expenses. The wife went into possession of the property and so remained until her death in 1890.
