The Cambridge Co-operative Store, a corporation, was running a general store at Cambridge, in Henry county, and on Wednesday, October 20,1897, was indebted to Oakford & Fahnestock, a Peoria corporation engaged in the wholesale grocery business, in the sum of $1,545.49, upon an open account. George P. Millard, treasurer of Oakford & Fahnestock, came to Cambridge on that day for the purpose of getting payment of this account or security therefor.
