OPINION
PATEL, District Judge.
Defendant Milton (aka Micky) Moore was indicted on December 20, 1984 for two violations of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a)(1) (possession with intent to distribute heroin and cocaine) and a violation of 26 U.S.C. §§ 5861(c) and (d) (possession of a silencer). The government moved for a detention hearing pursuant to § 3142 of the newly enacted Bail Reform Act of 1984 (“BRA”), 18 U.S.C. §§ 3141-3151. 1
