Phillip H. Gammel, aged about 65 years,, urns convicted in the district court for Dodge county of the crime of rape upon the person of Hazel Gammel, charged in the complaint as being under the age of 15 years and not previously unchaste. The trial proceeded to verdict and judgment of conviction, and, defendant being unable to procure a supersedeas bond, he was lodged in the penitentiary, there to serve a sentence of 12 years.
