This was an information in chancery, brought by the Attorney General, at and by the relation of the city of Streator, in the circuit court of LaSalle county, to establish a charity. There is no controversy in relation to facts. Edwin Evans died at Streator on the 5th day of May, 1889, leaving a widow, Jessie S. Evans, and Helen Amelia Haskell, an only child and heir-at-law. The will of the deceased was admitted to probate on the third day of June, 1889. He left an estate, consisting mainly of real estate, of about the value of $100,000.
