On June 1, 1896, Ozro E. Hart applied for membership and insurance in the Modern Woodmen of America, and on June 5, 1896, a beneficiary certificate was issued to him, providing that *679while in good standing he was entitled to participate in the benefit fund in the amount not to exceed $3000, which was to be paid at his death to his mother, Ruth America Hart.
