This is an appeal by the People of the State of Illinois (hereinafter referred to as the State) in which this court is asked to review an order of the Circuit Court of Kankakee County suppressing evidence in the prosecution of the defendant, James T. Crowell, for burglary and theft. At the suppression hearing, the defendant testified that on the date of his arrest, April 2, 1980, he was driving a 1972 Ford van. The van was white with blue decorations. It also had windows through which a person outside the van could observe an object inside the van.
