BACKGROUND

This litigation began as an action for damages in connection with the termination of plaintiffs employment, in the Superior Court of Morgan County, Georgia, against appellants, Larry Medford, Dewey H. Richardson, Hazel Conner, Virginia Davis, Jimmy Thompson, Brad Overstreet, and the City of Rutledge, Georgia (hereinafter “defendants”). Appellee, Gail Head (hereinafter “plaintiff’), filed a five-count complaint containing four state law claims and claims based on federal law.
