Appellant Joaquin Camacho (Camacho), an uninsured driver, rear-ended a driver insured by Interinsurance Exchange of the Automobile Club (Exchange). Exchange indemnified its insured and assigned to respondent Bell Corporation of America (Bell) for collection its claim of $9,377.51 against Camacho. After paying $500 of the sum claimed, Camacho filed this purported class action against Exchange, Bell, the Automobile Club of Southern California and ACSC Management Services, Inc.
