HEADNOTES ARE NOT AN OFFICIAL PRODUCT OF THE COURT, THEREFORE THEY ARE NOT DISPLAYED.] On the 4th day of September, 1877, the plaintiff, then seventeen months old, while unattended on defendant's track at the Cary avenue crossing in Hoosick Falls, was so injured by a passing locomotive as to require the amputation of a leg, and a finger of the left hand.
