In this diversity case, Margaret Jones (“Mrs. Jones” or “Appellant”) sued Ford Motor Company (“Ford” or “Appellee”), the manufacturer of her 1991 Lincoln Town Car, claiming that the cruise control system on her Town Car malfunctioned and caused a “sudden acceleration event” that resulted in a single-vehicle accident and Mrs. Jones’s paralysis. After a jury verdict for Ford, the district court denied Mrs. Jones’s motion for a new trial pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 59.
