Mrs. M. B. Cassin brought suit against ° the Southern Bell Telephone and Telegraph Company, alleging in her petition that she was the widow of George S. Cassin, who departed this life on the 10th day of December 1897 ; that on the 16th of May, 1892, while her husband was walking along the sidewalk of one of the streets of the city of Atlanta, the servants and employees of the defendant, who were engaged in placing a cable wire weighing about'500 pounds upon poles which were above the sidewalk upon which her husband was walking, negligently allowed such cable wire to fall to the street and…
