Mikell, Judge.

Stephen Sidwell appeals from the denial of his motion for new trial following his 1993 conviction on two counts of aggravated assault. He contends that the trial court erred by admitting evidence of his prior conviction of aggravated assault as a similar transaction and by admitting certain testimony as part of the res gestae. We affirm.

Viewed in the light most favorable to support the verdict, the evidence adduced at trial shows that at about 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 1992, one of the two victims, Jimmy Strickland, approached a group of men standing outside his apartment and…
