Justice GREENSPAN.

This appeal concerns a criminal defendant’s request to represent himself at trial and the trial court’s obligations in resolving such requests. We affirm.

In October 2005, Philadelphia Police observed Appellant Khaddfi El conduct a cocaine transaction on the street. Appellant was arrested on drug charges and a non-jury trial was scheduled for November 14, 2005. Appellant, asserting that police lacked probable cause, filed a motion to suppress cocaine and money seized from him at the time of his arrest.
