Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the County Court, Westchester County (Zambelli, J.), rendered October 2, 2012, convicting him of assault in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence.

Ordered that the judgment is affirmed.

The trial court’s Molineux ruling (see People v Molineux, 168 NY 264 [1901]) was a provident exercise of its discretion. The evidence of prior incidents of assaultive behavior by the defendant against his mother, who was the victim in the instant case, was properly ruled admissible. It was…
