Walter Lee Ivy, a citizen of Arkansas, sued in the name of the state of Mississippi, for his use (as plaintiff), Will Inmon, a citizen of Mississippi, sheriff of Lee county, Miss., and the United States Fidelity & Guaranty Company, a corporation chartered under the laws, and a citizen, of Maryland, on his bond, as defendants, in the United States District- Court of the Northern District of Mississippi, to recover damages for an alleged false imprisonment resulting from the arrest and detention by said sheriff of plaintiff.
