This is a workmen’s compensation case in which the dependents (widow and daughter) of Edward H. Smerdel, a police officer of the City and County of Denver, were awarded compensation for his death.
In the trial court the plaintiffs in error, City and County of Denver, Police Department, and the State Compensation Insurance Fund were plaintiffs. They will *477be referred to as the employer and the Fund, respectively. Blanche C. Smerdel and her daughter will be referred to as the claimants.
