Walter W. Grant appeals from a judgment of the United States District Court for the District of Vermont, Franklin J. Billings, Jr., Judge, following a jury trial of his claims under the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (the “ADEA” or “act”), 29 U.S.C. § 621 et seq. Grant claimed that defendant Hazelett Strip-Casting Corporation (“HSCC”) discharged him because of his age and in retaliation for his opposition to conduct made unlawful by the ADEA.
