This case involves the foreclosure of two mechanics’ liens by the plaintiff on two buildings owned by the defendant, Central Park North Co. Due to the number of parties involved and the importance of their relationships, we find it necessary to recite the facts at greater length than usual.

On August 10, 1964, the defendant, Central Park North, entered into a contract with Hamilton Construction Company for the construction of an *350apartment complex. The complex was to consist of six buildings.
